I just got my probationary license in NJ, and have a couple of questions about insurance. My parents have put me on their insurance plan and today i was given two POI cards-- one for each of their cars. Now, the problem is that I mostly plan to drive my grandmother's car. She lives with us and is getting to the point where she does not drive much anymore. She was told by her insurance company that i do not have to be put on her plan because we live in the same house, but i'm just curious how i would go about proving that i am insured if i ever got into an accident in her car. Can i just hold on to a copy of my POI from one of my parent's two card (in my wallet) to show a police officer, or do I need something specifically for that car? Thank you for the help :)

I've been trying to get quotes from various companies for when I do get my license but many of them will not even give me a quote if I don't have my license. Are there any car insurance companies that will offer insurance to me while I still only have my permit? I already found a car that I like before realizing my parents probably won't be able to put me on their insurance so I'm trying to figure this out quickly but thoroughly. I'd really like to get it soon because I hate driving in my parent's minivans since they are huge and I have trouble seeing out the tinted back window. So far the only option I see is to have my parents buy the car for me until I have my license (which I plan to get before December to avoid learning in the snow).

Cheap car insurance for 17 year old? ?

I've just passed my driving test and was looking to get insured on my mums 1.6l Audi 80. So I went onto some comparison web sites and put my mum as main driver and me as the named driver and I was getting quotes of around 1900 (Fully comp). So I thought I would see what it would cost if my mum got the likes of a corsa or a fiesta or something. I changed the car details on the website and the quotes came out at 3000 + (Fully comp). I just don't understand how an Audi can be considerably cheaper than a corsa's and fiestas etc. Any explaination on why this is would be much appreciated. Also my mum really is the main driver as she will be using it for work and shopping. I will only be driving at weekends really.

What company do you buy disability and/or life insurance from? I want to purchase both disability and life insurance (preferably together) but I just don't know where to start. I search on the web but I've never heard of any of these companies so I have no idea if they are a scam or not. My spouse and I are both young and healthy with no kids, but I want disability insurance because I've seen what can happen to people when they don't have it, and life insurance because we both depend on each other's incomes. Also, what kind of screening can I expect to be subjected to for such insurance? I talked to one company and he was talking about a rep coming to my house for urine samples! Is that normal?

My ex husband let my daughter borrow one of his cars. He lives in a different state. I had the car registered here in the state we live in, but now the insurance has expired and I can't seem to get insurance for the car now since the car is not in my name. I cannot get ahold of him at all.....phone is temporarity disconnected, etc., and I think he has not even been paying the payments on the car, since he has not been working for many months now due to the housing crisis in this country....especially the western part. hello had a car accident i am not in fault my medical bill are almost $100K the other party insurance accept its fault in the accident and it appears that they have full coverage if the insurance i have is the basic that covers $25K in medical bills so the other insurance tells me that there limit is $25K-$50K how can it be possible that it only covers $25K same as mine if she has full coverage and i don't??
